Q: Where are we undervaluing ourselves?

A: The Nightingale card shares that we have been undervaluing our voices.

While you can just read or just listen to the reading, I encourage you to explore both. Each has their own energetic transmission and shares that offer something slightly different but meaningful. Of course, you can find the practice and the mantra for this week’s reading in both the video and the blog below.

In the video, I started to expand on the “voice” as a potential metaphor for any way we express ourselves and then received correction from Spirit in real time. Nope! Not a metaphor. Our literal voices are being undervalued by ourselves collectively and individually.

The Nightingale Card

The Nightingale is asking you to use your voice and start valuing your voice more. Your voice is absolutely invaluable and should be shared. Depending on where you are in your journey, you may simply want to start with sharing your voice with yourself. Speaking to yourself, humming, chanting, or singing. Or maybe you are feeling the nudge to share your voice with others: A partner, your family, a friend or co-worker, or perhaps even on social media.

What I’ve found beautifully synchronistic about this question and the answer is that I personally have been called to use my voice more and was even given a song—my very first song—and have been repeatedly nudged to share it in many different spaces with many different people. I share it with you, too, in the video. I have had to start valuing my voice, not just the words, but the energy that my voice carries. The calm, peaceful grounding presence that my voice (not my words) carries is what I’ve been asked to value more and share more.

It’s time to value your voice and learn what your voice’s signature energy is: Maybe, like mine, it is grounding. Maybe it is energizing. Maybe it is inspirational. There are so many possibilities—but you have to use your voice, listen to your voice, and learn to love and value your voice before you can fully integrate and embody all that your voice has to offer this world.

Embodiment Practices for This Week’s Reading

Daily Practice

Let’s start to feel our voices inside our bodies, how they resonate and make us feel.

Place your hands on your heart, close your eyes, and speak, hum, chant, or sing continuously for at least one minute.

First start with connecting to the vibration of your voice in your chest that you are feeling through your hand. Then, start to feel your voice’s vibrations through your entire body. Let your voice completely fill you up.

The daily practice of feeling your voice inside your body could bring up some unexpected emotions for you. It could feel deeply healing or it could feel really scary—or anything in between. However it feels, try to stick with it. If it becomes too much, simply become silent, open your eyes, and anchor your gaze onto something in your space that makes you feel safe/grounded/neutral. Hold that gaze until you feel better and more relaxed again.

When you are ready, go back to the practice of feeling your voice in your body. Build up your tolerance to your own voice—in Somatics and Polyvagal Theory, this is called building your window of tolerance within your nervous system. It creates resilience and begins to rewrite your very coding to a place where you feel safe being more embodied and powerful.

Your Mantra

I am valuable. I am priceless. My voice is valuable. My voice is priceless. My expression is valuable. My expression is priceless.

Sometimes, it can be helpful to use a mantra as a reminder of what you are called to embody and heal. If you want to use the mantra above, I encourage you to speak it out loud. This would be a beautiful way to feel your voice in your body (the practice for this week).
